Accélère: 2005 Sun iForce Partner for Clinical Research
In March 2003, Accélère established a strong ISV relationship with Sun Microsystems, Inc. for the initial commercial development of our solution. Sun provided development infrastructure support, software architecture verification, Java™ and JES technical support, large scale testing support for our commercial software releases and hardware configuration/installation support for our deployments.
Today, we have elevated our working relationship and are a part of Sun's iForce initiative, the program that brings together under one umbrella Sun systems, software, services and best-in-class technology/product partners to create and deliver customer-driven solutions that enable our biotechnology and healthcare customers to leverage the network to improve their research, development and patient care processes.
Accélère is sponsored by Sun Microsystems as the 2005 solutions partner for clinical research area within their Global Life Sciences and Healthcare Solutions initiative. The Sun Life Sciences Global Solutions team, headed by Dr. Ulrich Meier, is leading co-marketing efforts to provide the necessary technical and field consulting support for Accélère in the Life Sciences/Research community.
The goal of this partnership is to ensure the operation and delivery of our solution on an enterprise-grade platform, capable of sustaining production patient data volumes and workflow activity as well as and integrating with other enterprise-level care and research solutions.
High Performance Testing
In March 2005, Accélère and Sun Microsystems completed high performance testing of the Accélère Recruit™ system within their Testing Center. We set up a cluster of 8 enterprise-grade servers to reproduce the typical production operating environment of a large care facility. We ran stress loads applying various levels of incoming patient flow (up to 240 patients/hour), lab/pharmacy record flow (up to 2400 records per hour), number of patients recruited into new studies (up to 700 patients) in order to verify system integrity, performance and capacity. We observed no cases with data loss and only witnessed marginal increases (3-4%) in search times and web form loading times when increasing the total number of patients and lab/pharmacy records over 4-5 orders of magnitude.
Now on Solaris 10™
Accélère Recruit™ V1.5 release operates on Sun Solaris 10, Sun Directory Server 5.2 SP3, Sun Access Manager 6.3, Sun Application Server 8.1 EE, Sun Web Server 6.1 SP4, Sun Portal Server 6.4, Sun Process Manager 6.5 and Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) 1.4. Accélère DataConnect runs on Sun Solaris 10, Tomcat 4.1 and J2EE 1.4.
